The VHI approved Ave Maria Nursing Home, situated in the
village of Tooreen, Ballyhaunis Co. Mayo, surpasses the

Neither money nor effort has been spared in this state of
the art purpose built single level nursing home. The comfort
of the residents was always a number one priority in drawing
up the plans for The Ave Maria. The dining room and lounge
are bright, cosy and warm and the interior décor and
design paints a beautiful scene of yesterday's Ireland. Each
room has views of acres of green pastures with cattle
grazing, lively rabbits, a glimpse of the odd hare or a fox,
all encompassing country life.

Ideally located in a picturesque landscape. The residents
can enjoy the charming courtyard with an array of rainbow
colours and comfortable garden furniture, which is carefully
protected at the rear of the building.
Oratory
Since the beginning of time, people have withdrawn to
find a quiet place to reflect, heal and tend to the soul. In
the oratory at The Ave Maria the Blessed Sacrament is
reserved. There you will find peace, healing and comfort,
where the only noise will be the whisper of God's presence
mingled with nature's sounds of cattle mooing and the melody
from birds songs. This surely is a prayerful place for
anybody of any religion or belief.

Self
Catering Accommodation is available beside the Ave
Maria Nursing Home. This can be booked through the Ave Maria
for visitors.
Senior Citizens - Respite /
Convalescence
If you are a senior citizen or have family members who
are, perhaps a week or two in the good, fresh clean air of
Tooreen is just what the doctor ordered! Travel by bus or
train to Ballyhaunis and be collected and taken to Ave Maria
where you can spend a pleasant week or two in luxury
surroundings. Enjoy wholesome nourishing home cooking, and
many social activities including card games, music - even a
game of golf can be arranged if you are feeling
energetic!

Proprietors
Tom and Ann Feeney proprietors of the Ave Maria are both
residents of the local community and qualified carers. Ann a
native of Tooreen is actively involved in all social aspects
of the community while Tom is a keen sportsman.

Understanding that assisted living is a most important
decision for you and your family, Tom and Ann both welcome

for Tom and Ann, enabling them to take part of the residents
home environment to the Ave Maria.
